Compare camera behavior under controlled illumination, prototype a camera-to-display path and evaluate image noise and viewing latency before developing a handheld enclosure.
A proposed camera-and-display monocular investigating low-light image acquisition, digital processing and enclosure design. Sensor sensitivity, lens selection and illumination conditions would define what can be observed. Digital low-light imaging is distinct from thermal imaging and image-intensifier technology.
